Shorter than one year, CRYSTAL LAKE is already back in Europe! MoreCoreTV had the opportunity to meet the band for their first stop of the Tour at « JERA ON AIR 2018 » Festival. Some parts of this interview can be a little bit difficult to understand, so I transcribed it below. MoreCoreTV : Hey guys, welcome to « JERA ON AIR ». You play awesome shows! Roy (Vo. CRYSTAL LAKE) : Oh, Thank you! Shinya (Gt. CRYSTAL LAKE) : Thank you! MoreCoreTV : It’s your first time here, right? Ryo : Yeah, you’re right, it’s our first time. Shinya : Here? Yes. MoreCoreTV : Last year, you played your first show in Germany and first time in Europe, and now it’s shorter than a year, and you’re back! Ryo : Yeah, we’re back. It was awesome, and people were so crazy and, yeah, it was awesome. MoreCoreTV :So you were pretty satisfied with it. Ryo : Yes, you’re right. MoreCoreTV : Do you have some special dates you would like to play, so is there something you’re really waiting for… ? Ryo : A special date? MoreCoreTV : Yeah, from your Tour right now… Ryo : Ohh, yeah yeah yeah yeah…Hmm… It’s the first day of our Tour… MoreCoreTV : Yeah yeah, there are more dates you especially want to play… ? Ryo : Ah! *Translate the question to YD and Shinya in Japanese*

Yudai (Gt. CRYSTAL LAKE) : Today! (Laughs)

Ryo : Yeah, today, today! (Laughs) MoreCoreTV : Yeah, because this is a kind of special festival, I don’t know if you noticed it, because all the people here are working as volunteers. Ryo : Oh, really? MoreCoreTV : Yeah, so this is a whole volunteer festival, so all the people are living here in the cities of this whole region, so I guess you feel this atmosphere. Ryo : Yeah, I feel DIY spirit. MoreCoreTV : Yeah, this is very very high here right? Ryo : Yeah, It’s really good. MoreCoreTV : And it’s the first time it’s SOLD OUT. Ryo : Oh really? MoreCoreTV : Yeah. Ryo : Whoa! MoreCoreTV : Probably because of you, your fault (Laughs).

(Laughs) MoreCoreTV : Well, we’ve seen that you will release a New Single or two New Singles and a Remix, [The Circle] Featuring Masato from COLDRAIN, so could you tell us something about it? It will be released on 8th of August? Ryo : Oh yeah, in august, you’re right. We were talking with Masato for a while before we worked with it, and finally, we could make a suitable song for Masato and I. I mean, it has a feeling of 90’s of hardcore, and we all are influenced by that, Masato also, and this is the best timing we work with it, I mean it’s heavy and melodic but, it’s kind of bizarre feeling, I think you guys will love it. MoreCoreTV : Ok, I’m pretty excited to hear it. Then, there’s a second track with Tyler from GIDEON. Ryo : Yeah, we toured with them last year, last summer, and we call them each other "family", so we get along with them, and then, we were talking about featuring ; I mean that Dan and Tyler, them both are so amazing singers, so I wanted to sing our song for a long time, so it was good, it was good. MoreCoreTV : Yeah, there’s also a Remix. Ryo : Oh yeah, True North Remix. Yudai : It’s my friends. MoreCoreTV : It’s a friend of you? Yudai : Yeah.

MoreCoreTV : Could you say something about the style of the Remix or what will be that? Ryo : It’s kind of chilling. MoreCoreTV : Chilling? Ryo : Yeah, but a little scream but, it’s so chill and it’s kind of… Yudai : Night cruise. Ryo : Night cruise, it’s kind of… yeah, you know what I mean? MoreCoreTV : Oh yeah, like driving through the cities... Ryo : Yeah!! MoreCoreTV : Ok, I understand. So then, what was the idea behind the release of the two songs and the Remix, because it’s no full album. Yudai : Actually, we are going to release the album this autumn. Ryo : Yeah, so it’s just the promotion for the New Album. MoreCoreTV : So can you tell us more about the New Album? Ryo : The theme of our New Album is about a time or space, and the sound is heavier than ever, but it’s kind of atmospheric… MoreCoreTV : It’s also nitrogen. Ryo : Yeah yeah yeah! It’s deeper than ever. MoreCoreTV : Yeah, spiracles. Ryo : Yeah, yeah. MoreCoreTV : Ok, I got it. Nice. When can we expect the New Album? There is some release date for the New Album? Ryo : Hmm, not yet, but, this fall. MoreCoreTV : Oh nice, so we can expect some pretty nice music from you guys. Very very nice. Then, you played last year, I mentioned your first Tour in Europe, you will also play a lot of festivals, and until now, is there something that has changed it's since then in Europe? Ryo : Not… Not so much. They're keeping a real good feeling and vibes, yeah, I love it, I love it so much. MoreCoreTV : Is there something you would like to say, like there are more and more people coming to your shows since last year because your European Fan Base is growing…? Ryo : Yeah… I think so but, I’m not sure because this is the first show, so yeah, we’ll see, we’ll see. (Laughs) MoreCoreTV : For sure, for sure. And, after the Summer Tour, there will be some new dates in the fall. Ryo : Oh, yeah! With Bury Tomorrow.

MoreCoreTV : Oh, nice! Oh yeah, actually, I’ve seen the whole Tour with Bury Tomorrow and Cane Hill, right? So this is a Tour with Bury Tomorrow and 36 Crazyfists and Cane Hill. Do you know the bands? Ryo, Shinya & YD : Yes. Ryo : We toured with Bury Tomorrow in japan 3 years ago. So yeah, it will be nice. MoreCoreTV : Very funny guys. Ryo : Yeah! They are crazy. MoreCoreTV : Daniel (Vo. Bury Tomorrow) was here yesterday, we played at Mario Kart, because they played yesterday here as well. So yeah, awesome.
